Solarfit are installers and are not subjected to installing a particular brand or model of panels. Whatever product the customer wants we will install. However, the most popular product we have installed have been the evacuated tube panels. A yearly energy yield for a system with 2 collectors can produce up to 1900 kw hours per annum, compared to other panel that come up to 1600 kw hours.
Evacuated Tubes
The Evacuated Tube model is the most advanced and efficient. It consists of a row of between 20 and 30 vacuum tubes, which are plugged into a manifold through which the water flows. Inside each vacuum tube there is a lengh of metal, which heats up very rapidly due to the high insulation resulting from the vacuum. The heated metal transfers this energy to the water in the manifold using a heat pipe with alcohol as a transfer fluid which gives a quicker response to changing weather. Evacuated tubes do provide more hot water and are better in the changeable weather days of spring and Autumn.
